The Sports Games of Oaza and Special Olympics BiH were officially opened on September 27 at 6:00 PM at the Safet Zajko Education, Sports and Recreation Center in Sarajevo.
Competitors have the opportunity to show their team spirit. They will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in seven different sports: football, athletics, bocce, basketball, swimming, table tennis and the MATP program for people with multiple disabilities.
The Special Olympics in BiH together with the association ‘Oaza’ actively promotes examples of good practice of support and cooperation of the Association with various participants, striving to ensure a better position of people with intellectual disabilities in society through various projects.
We thank Oaza Association and the Football Association of BiH for an excellent example of what inclusion should look like.
The project „Inclusion Through Sport for Children with Developmental Disabilities” is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation. The project is managed by Motivation Romania Foundation in partnership with Special Olympics Romania, SO Iceland, SO Slovakia, SO Lithuania, SO Bosnia and Herzegovina, SO Montenegro, with support from Europe Eurasia Foundation and Poznan University of Physical Education.
