As part of the project “Inclusion through Sports for Children with Developmental Disabilities”, Special Olympics in BiH, in cooperation with the Third Gymnasium in Sarajevo, held an education attended by 25 high school students.
One of the goals of the project is to enable children without ID and the wider community the opportunity to learn about ID and become more inclusive.
The training included:
– presentation of the project
– presentation of SOBiH activities
– the importance of inclusion in the high school period
– the importance of transitional sports activities for children aged 6-12.
– open discussion on the need for an inclusive society
We thank the school principal, Ms. Senada Salihodžić, the parent Sabina Šunić, and our leader and member of the Athlete Leadership Council Edna Šunjić for their participation.
The project is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and the Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation.
